Blogging, blogger meets and blogger friends

Day 2. Alphabet 'B'.

I remember making my account on Blogger in an inexplicable haste. Not that I was dying to write but because this blog title clicked with me and I fell in love with it. So, while the coffee brews was founded in November 2010. I forgot everything about its existence after that. Something happened and I wrote my first post many months later in May 2011. I never really could take time out actively to write and hence blog was just some place I visited occasionally. But my love for it was intact. And I knew, some day I will devote more time to my blog. Mind you, I still was a very solitary blogger. I had no contacts in the blogosphere and I was not a part of any of the blogging communities.

In 2012, I hopped on to IndiBlogger's website through some random Facebook time-pass. Surfed the website and very hesitantly, signed up. I did not have a clue about the community, the bloggers and the meets. Very soon, there was an invite for a Dove Bloggers Meet by IB. I registered for it wondering will I be the only one there. :P

I got a pleasant surprise when I reached the venue. The hall at The Park, Delhi was buzzing with activity and there were women all around! I took a seat and realised I was infact late! Anyhow, in the tea break I got introduced to some bloggers, I did not know how brilliant they were then. Now I know! I met IHM, Ash Musings, Priya (green compass), Rinzu, Abha Midha, Priyanka Dey and Abha Iyengar. The meet after the tea break became even more fun. That meet gave me friends and confidence to write more often.

Blogging soon became more dear to me and in one of the meets, when I was asked about my reason to start blogging, I said I want to know myself better through my writing and also, an ulterior motive is to be successful and be India’s Carrie Bradshaw! (For some weird odd reason, this answer won me a phone for a candid intro! J)

I met more people in my second meet like Ruchira Shukla, Ekta Khetan and Sangeeta Khanna.  And since I knew so many of them, second meet was even more fun!

Yes, blogging gave me wings and I love the space I am in right now. I am proud of being a part of this amazing community that boasts of amazing people. But, more than anything, blogging gave me something I will be proud of all my life -  IndiBlogeshwaris. It is this amazing group of women bloggers on Facebook that I am a part of. Most of the bloggers have not met each other; we live in different cities, different countries and different time-zones. We all have different professions, some work from home and some travel for work. But we are all there for each other. There were many a times I wasn’t in a happy space due to work or in general and I vented on this page. The response, affection and care I got from all the ladies there on those posts shook me. I never thought that not knowing someone in person could still make you so empathetic to their problems and concerns. Today, this group page is the only group page I am active on and I always have it opened in a separate window. There is so much activity on this page any minute that it’s like we are all present in one place and chit-chatting!

So, when I am attempting this A to Z Blogging Challenge today, it is because of the courageous women of this group.

I shall always belong to this group and this will make sure I blog to belong to the group! J

See you all tomorrow! Or rather, C you all! :)

  15. Hey .. Hope you remember me? I came here through your FB post and you also might be amazed after reading this comment like I am after reading your post. But also sorry for such a long comment. :D

We met at Protsahan on one of the induction day few months back. Then I also dropped you to metro and you asked me about my FB id and incidentally I remembered to search you on Facebook.

All the while we were in Protsahan I was thinking where else I have seen you? Then you said in intro that you got to know about Protsahan through Indiblogger, then I thought 'ohh okay .. I must have seen your pic somewhere on indi'..

But no I was wrong and your this post made me remember where exactly I had seen you. I was also there in Spice Mobile meet at Park last year and I saw you there on the stage..

This blogging world had made all this quite interesting. :P Nice to meet you here also.

    BTW, nice post ! :)

  17. I love this! Connection, community, and all sorts of names I don't recognize.

I live in Toronto, a mixed-ethnicity child, with my father hailing from Bangalore, India, but I rarely hear much about my roots, so it was really refreshing for me just to be exposed to this.

On top of that, I've never been to a 'blogger' meet, the blog community in Toronto isn't extremely strong, from what I can tell :)

Hmmm, perhaps I'll start my own one day ;)

    Keep Ryzin', Naina, fellow A-to-Z-er.
